Public Works Supervisor

 City of Medford 

The City of Medford is recruiting for an individual to fill the position of full-time, exempt (salaried), Public Works Supervisor.  Working under the direction of the City Administrator and City Council, this position will provide a high level of direct supervision of full and part time public works staff.  The position requires the direction of responsive customer service and managing, participating and reviewing the activities and operations of the Public Works Department.  The position requires communicating and coordinating with other City staff and outside agencies; and includes identifying, directing, planning, managing, and implementing the day to day and long-term maintenance and operation of streets, parks, trails, facilities, vehicles, equipment, and wastewater, water, and storm sewer infrastructure.   The position performs administrative, technical, and professional work in managing and maintaining municipal infrastructure. Salary is $54,641-$73,757, DOQ. 

Must possess Minnesota issued Class D Water and Class D Wastewater licenses (Class C or higher licenses preferred), a valid Minnesota driver’s license with the ability to obtain a Class B driver’s license with air brake endorsement within six months.  Must possess or have the ability to obtain a CPO license.    


Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some evening, weekend and emergency response required.
